Riley Brandt will undergo surgery next week after sustaining a lower body injury against the Guildford Flames on New Year's Day.
The injury is not as serious as initially thought, but still needs surgery. The recovery time after surgery is likely 6 to 8 weeks.
"This is a big blow to our team," said Todd Kelman. "I am gutted for Riley. I thought he was playing his best hockey as a Devil this season, in particular the last few weeks.
"He brings energy and passion to our team every night, so we are going to miss him while he is out, but the positive news is that he should make a full recovery."
