Pete Russell confirmed his captains on Thursday morning before training confirming that Mark Richardson would captain the Devils for another season.

Richardson took over the captaincy after Covid and lifted the 2022 Playoff Championship at the end of that season.  Sam Duggan was named an assistant captain that season and will wear the 'A' for another year.

Joey Martin has worn an 'A' for his entire Devils career other than the shortened 2019-20 season when he took over the 'C' from Jake Morissette.

Russell added Andrew MacWilliam as an assistant captain for the 2024-25 season. The veteran defenceman is in his first year as a Devil.

Pete Russell spoke about the group of captains:

"We have a room full of leaders and three guys that have been captains for a number of years.  They all have the respect of their teammates and have done a great job as captains over the last few years.  Adding Andrew was an obvious choice.  From day one, his natural leadership has come through.  He plays hard every game and is a total pro on and off the ice."
