Continental Cup Final Update

  • Reading Time
  • Published Date 15 Jan 2025

The IIHF has confirmed that HC Arlan (Kazakhstan) has officially withdrawn from the 2025 IIHF Continental Cup Final scheduled in Cardiff next week.

Consultations were undertaken with potential replacement teams, and it was determined that having a placeholder team in the tournament was not possible at this time.

This means the Final will now have 3 teams participating instead of 4.  The early games on Thursday and Sunday are dropped and Saturday’s early game moves to the later face-off time.

The updated schedule is as follows:

  • Game 1 – Thursday 16th January 19:30 – GKS Katowice v Cardiff Devils
  • Game 2 – Saturday 18th January 18:00 – Bruleurs de Loups v GKS Katowice
  • Game 3 – Sunday 19th January 18:00 – Cardiff Devils v Bruleurs de Loups

Please take the time to read the implications for the ticket category you fall under.  We will have over 4,000 orders to process before the event starts, so please do not call the office about your specific situation.  If any of the solutions below do not work for you, you can email [email protected] and we will aim to get back to you before the start of the tournament.

IF YOU HAVE A TOURNAMENT PASS – If you booked a tournament pass, you will be compensated with a match night ticket voucher to use at a future Devils game - £20 for Adults or £15 for Juniors.  Most of you are likely season ticket holders and there will be a semi-final Challenge Cup game or playoff quarterfinal game this season to use this voucher for or even pre-season games next season.  This makes the cost of your tournament pass £35 (instead of £55) for Adults and £18 for Juniors (instead of £33).  If you purchased the 2 Devils games separately you would be paying £42.50 in total (£21.25 per game for an Adult ticket) so this is still a better deal.

IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE UK – we will issue a partial refund (Adults £20, Juniors £15) instead of a match night voucher. This applies to tournament passes only.

IF YOU HAVE TICKETS FOR THE THURSDAY AFTERNOON GAME – This game was meant to be HC Arlan v Bruleurs de Loups.  This game is not taking place, therefore you will be given a full refund.

IF YOU HAVE TICKETS FOR THE THURSDAY NIGHT GAME – You do not have to do anything.  Your ticket is still valid for this game.  This game is still GKS Katowice v Cardiff Devils facing off at 19:30.

IF YOU HAVE TICKETS FOR THE SATURDAY AFTERNOON GAME – This game is moved from 2pm to 6pm and your ticket remains valid for this game at the new face-off time of 6pm.  No refunds will be offered because this game is still going ahead.

IF YOU HAVE TICKETS FOR THE SATURDAY NIGHT GAME – This game was meant to be Cardiff Devils v HC Arlan.  Your original ticket is not valid for the 6pm game because the game between the Devils and Arlan is not taking place.  You will be issued with a match night ticket voucher worth £25 (Adults) and £15 (Juniors) to redeem for a future Cardiff Devils home game.

If you wish to attend the Saturday night game between Bruleurs de Loups v GKS Katowice, you will need to book new tickets for this game.  This is the game most affected by these changes but this inconvenience for you to rebook is the only way to be fair to the people that booked for the afternoon game to see Bruleurs de Loups v GKS Katowice. There are not enough available seats to just combine the two bookings.  The good news is this game is only £13.25 for Adults and £9.25 for Juniors.  These prices include booking fees. CLICK HERE to book tickets.

IF YOU HAVE TICKETS FOR THE SUNDAY AFTERNOON GAME – This game was meant to be HC Arlan v GKS Katowice.  This game is not taking place, therefore you will be given a full refund.

IF YOU HAVE TICKETS FOR THE SUNDAY NIGHT GAME – You do not have to do anything.  Your ticket is still valid for this game.  This game is still Cardiff Devils v Bruleurs de Loups facing off at 18:00.

** We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience of this change of format, but this was beyond our control.  We will be working around the clock to get the vouchers and refunds processed ahead of the event, so please respect the fact that this will take time and there are alot of bookings to deal with.  We cannot take phone calls about this right now. **
