After six seasons as a Devil, the club can confirm that Mark Louis will not be back in Cardiff next season.

Louis joined the Devils ahead of the 2016-17 season after playing four seasons pro in North America.  He had an immediate impact for the Devils with his no-nonsense style of play.

Over his six seasons, Louis won two league titles, one Challenge Cup and three Playoff Championships.  In total, he played 373 games for the Devils in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and 42 assists for 54 points.  He also racked up 527 penalty minutes and will go down as one of the toughest players to ever pull on a Devils jersey.

“He was a fan favourite from his first game and for good reason,” said Managing Director Todd Kelman.

“On the ice, he was a warrior.  His style of play intimidated other teams and made him one of our most popular players every season.

“He played hard, he played hurt, he protected his teammates and he won… A lot.

“We are grateful to have had Mark Louis as a Devil for so many years.  He played a huge role in our success on the ice since he arrived and was just as important to us and our fans off the ice.

“We are going to miss him, and on behalf of the ownership and staff, I want to thank him for everything he gave to this club over his six seasons.

“We know he will bring the same commitment, work ethic and passion that he brought every day to his next venture, whether that is on or off the ice.”
