The Cardiff Devils are pleased to confirm that Pete Russell will be behind the bench for the foreseeable future as Head Coach.
Earlier this week, Pete signed a three-year extension to remain as Head Coach of the Devils, which starts after his current contract ends at the end of the 2024-25 season.
“Neil Francis, the owners and myself have all been happy with the job Pete has been doing in his first 18 months with the club,” explained Managing Director Todd Kelman.
“We believe in Pete and what he is building here in Cardiff. We wanted to get back to having stability and a core of great players led by great coaches, which starts with Pete.
“We went three years in a row with a different head coach and that makes it difficult to establish your identity as a club.
“Pete is settled here, and the players know he is in charge. When the coach is comfortable, he can focus on a long-term plan rather than worrying about his own job each season.”
