Fan Favourite Cole Sanford returns to the Devils after starting the season in Germany’s DEL2 with ESV Kaufbeuren.  Last season, Sanford led the Devils in scoring with 29 goals and 29 assists for 58 points in 54 league games last season.

He was voted as the Forward of the Year and the Coach’s Player of the Year last season.  He also was voted onto the EIHL’s First All-Star Team last season by the Coaches and General Managers of the teams across the league.

In his three seasons with Cardiff, Sanford has played 198 games for the Devils and scored a whopping 107 goals.  He has led the Devils in goals the previous two seasons and last year he finished 5th in the league in points and 2nd in goals.  He also lifted the 2022 Playoff Championship in his first season as a Devil.

Sanford will wear his familiar number 96, and he arrives into Cardiff in the early hours of Wednesday morning.  There is some paperwork to get done this week, which likely means his first game back will be away to Manchester on the 20th of September.  He is expected to make his home debut against the Fife Flyers on Saturday 21st of September.
