The Devils head to Northern Ireland this weekend for two games against the Belfast Giants.
These massive rivals will face each other at 7:00pm on Saturday night and then again on Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm.
WHERE THEY STAND – The Devils and Giants are neck in neck in the standings ahead of the weekend with the Devils sitting in 2nd place but just a point ahead of the Giants.
SPECIAL TEAMS – The Devils have the second best powerplay in the league behind the Sheffield Steelers, clicking at 26.09%, but their penalty kill is in 6th spot with a kill rate of 76.83%. The Giants are the opposite, with the third best penalty kill in the league (81.25%) but a powerplay that sits in 8th spot, scoring at 18.09%.
SCORING TOUCH – Cole Sanford leads the Devils with 18 goals in 30 games, good for third overall in the league goal scoring charts. The Giants leading goal scorer is Ara Nazarian who has 12 goals so far in 30 league games in his first year in Belfast.
BETWEEN THE PIPES – The Giants could go with Tyler Beskorowany or Jackson Whistle just like the Devils could play Ben Bowns or Tyler Wall. Not a lot of teams have two starting netminders that can steal a game for their team, but both teams this weekend are spoiled for choice in net.
THE CROWD – Expect to see two near sold out shows at the SSE Arena this weekend and you can count hundreds of Devils fans in the mix as they make the annual trip to Belfast for two big games.
IF YOU’RE MAKING THE TRIP – Remember to enjoy the fabulous Northern Irish hospitality all weekend long. If you are looking for a place to meet up before the game, the Red Army usually take over McHugh’s Pub located a 5 minute walk across the bridge from the Arena.
