Devils open pre-season against Herlev Eagles

The Cardiff Devils hit the ice this weekend for the first time in pre-season action against the Herlev Eagles.

NEW FACES
Well, there are plenty of them in the line-up for the very first time as a Devil - defencemen Jarrod Gourley (number 60) and Andrew MacWilliam (number 2) and forwards Brett Perlini (11), Josh MacDonald (92), Hunter Shinkaruk (89), Reid Duke (27) and Zach O'Brien (86). We also have two familiar faces returning to Cardiff after some time away - Gleason Fournier (20) and Mac Carruth (30). Riley Brandt and Kohen Olischefski arrive early next week.
RETURN OF A LEGEND PART 1
We are pleased to have Devils legend Matthew Myers returning to his hometown team as our new assistant coach. Matthew played 7 of his 18 years pro with the Devils and won more titles in the EIHL than any other player in league history. He will be behind the bench for the very first time on Friday night.
RETURN OF A LEGEND PART 2
We face Danish side Herlev Eagles both games this weekend. The Eagles’ assistant coach is former Devils’ star Guillaume Doucet who played for us for 2 seasons (2015-16 and 2016-17) and lifted a Challenge Cup and a League Title as a Devil scoring 58 goals over his two seasons in Cardiff.
SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW
In the Shirt Off His Back Raffle this weekend. Friday you can win either Joey Martin’s number 88 jersey or new forward Josh MacDonald’s number 92 jersey. On Saturday it is Evan Mosey (number 23) or new forward Zach O’Brien (number 86).

If you can't make the games, we are streaming both games this weekend on Cardiff Devils TV. Join us 15 minutes before the puck drops both nights to ensure you get logged in before face-off at 7:00pm.
POSTGAME SATURDAY
Get your skates on for a quick skate with the players right after the game. You can bring your own or rent them from the Arena for £3.
