The Cardiff Devils are pleased to confirm the signing of 26-year-old Kohen Olischefski for the 2024-25 season.
The Canadian forward played in the top league in Germany (DEL) last season with Dusseldorf. In 52 games, he scored 11 goals and 9 assists for 20 points.

Olischefski spent four seasons at the University of Denver, one of the top hockey programmes in the United States before finishing his amateur career at Providence College. He turned pro with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL), the top affiliate of the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres.

He split the 2022-23 season with Rochester in the AHL and the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL where he scored 9 goals and 17 assists in 43 games. Dusseldorf came calling after the season and he made the move to Germany last season.
Olischefski is a right shot forward who can play wing or centre. At 6’1 and 190 lbs, he is a big body and skates extremely well.

Head Coach Pete Russell spoke about Olischefski:
“He is a two-way player that is defensively responsible and has a high compete level.
“He is a great skater; he plays physical and gets to the hard areas at both ends of the ice. I watched a ton of video on him, and I loved his compete level. He is our type of player.
“Kohen is coming to us from one of the best leagues in Europe and I know he will fit it well with the style of play we are looking for next season.”
