Ryan Barrow joins the Devils from the Manchester Storm where he put up 14 goals and 27 assists in just 38 games last season.

His year ended early due to injury, but before that he was second on his team in scoring and in the top ten points scorers in the league.

Before turning pro with Manchester, he played five seasons with Denver University, one of the top University programmes in the USA.

At Denver he played with Carter King, the son of Devils’ owner Steve King, where the two were both members of the National Championship winning team in 2022.

Barrow is originally from Banff, Alberta (Canada) and played his youth hockey in the Banff Academy before spending two seasons with the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL.  He led Langley in scoring in his second season and caught the eye of a handful of top US Universities, eventually settling on a scholarship offer from Denver.

The 2023-24 season will only be his second season of pro hockey and the Devils believe he will continue to improve.

Pete Russell spoke about signing Barrow:

“We are delighted to sign Ryan. He is a powerful forward with a good skill set.

“He’s not scared to play in the hard areas, and he gets a lot of his goals through his willingness to get stuck in. He has good size, great hands and plays a 200ft game.

“He comes from one of the best programmes in the US and he does the small things well, the little details that people might not notice but coaches do, so he can play in all situations.

Last season, he had a great start, but his season finished prematurely due to injury. Before that he was on-pace to be one of the top players in the league.”

Ryan Barrow will wear number 79 for the Devils.
