Hunter Shinkaruk left Sunday's game in Dundee early in the first period after an awkward hit.  He is expected to be out for up to 4 weeks with an upper body injury.

Shinkaruk only returned to the lineup 2 weekends ago against the Nottingham Panthers.  The 30 year old forward missed the first 12 weeks of the regular season with a lower body injury.

Shinkaruk lit up the pre-season, scoring nearly every game before getting injured on the first weekend of competitive Elite League action. His first injury occurred on the 15th September in the first period of the Challenge Cup game against the Guildford Flames.shinkaruk-goal-at-belfast-aug-24.jpgShinkaruk is in his first season with the Devils after spending last year in Germany’s top league (DEL) with the Iserlohn Roosters.  The former 1st round NHL Draft pick played a total of 15 games in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames.
